This tube fits road clincher tyres in the 18-32C range, covering narrow race tyres through to wider all-road rubber. It comes with an 85mm valve, purpose-built for deep-section aero rims where a shorter valve wouldn't reach through the rim bed far enough to seat a pump head. If you're running shallower rims, Cyclami's 65mm valve version of this tube will sit more neatly.

Honestly, not quite, and that's by design. This 30g tube is Cyclami's lightest tier, achieved with a thinner wall than the 38g version to shave off another 8g — great for racing or as an ultralight spare. Cyclami's 38g green tube is the sturdier tier of the two, keeping slightly more wall thickness for extra day-to-day durability, so if you ride heavily potholed or debris-strewn routes daily, it's worth considering as your primary tube.

A metal valve stem is generally more rigid and heat-resistant than a plastic one, so it holds up better to repeated pumping, valve extenders and the vibration of rough roads over time — useful on a long 85mm valve stem that sees more handling. Cyclami also sells a plastic-valve version of this same 30g tube if you'd rather prioritise every last gram over long-term valve durability.

TPU tubes need a TPU-specific patch — a standard rubber patch kit won't bond to the material and will peel off within a few kilometres. Cyclami's own glueless TPU Patches Kit is made exactly for this: clean the area with the included alcohol pad, press on a patch, and you're back rolling in under two minutes. It's worth carrying one alongside this tube on every ride, especially since a thinner 30g tube is more likely to see the odd small puncture.

TPU tubes tend to lose a little more air between rides than butyl, so it's worth topping up before you head out rather than assuming last week's pressure is still good. Beyond that they're used the same way as any clincher tube — inflate to your usual road pressure with a Presta-compatible pump, and check occasionally for slow seepage, which is normal for the material.
