No, this rack is specifically designed to work without roof rails or crossbars, using vacuum suction cups that mount directly onto a clean, flat, painted metal or glass roof surface. This makes it a practical option for hatchbacks, sedans, and SUVs in India that don't come with factory-fitted roof rails.

Suction-mount racks work best on smooth, rigid, painted metal or tempered glass roof surfaces, and are generally not recommended for soft-top convertibles, canvas roofs, heavily textured or matte-wrap finishes, or curved panoramic sunroof glass. Before use, check your specific car roof type, clean the mounting area thoroughly, inspect the suction cups' seal before every trip, and follow the recommended maximum speed and load guidelines, since suction cup racks generally carry lower load limits than permanent crossbar-mounted racks.

Each cradle secures the bike frame with adjustable straps or clamps designed to hold it firmly during transit, and quick-release levers allow you to mount or remove bikes without tools. It's recommended to double-check strap tightness and the suction indicator before every drive, and to periodically stop on long journeys to re-verify the cups haven't loosened.

Suction performance depends on clean cup surfaces and an intact rubber seal, so wipe both the cups and the car roof free of dust, grease, and water before every use. Strong sun exposure and monsoon humidity can affect rubber suction cups over time, so store the rack indoors when not in use and replace the cups if you notice cracking, hardening, or reduced grip.

Suction-mount roof racks are generally rated for a specific maximum speed by the manufacturer, and it's advisable to stay within that limit and avoid harsh braking, sharp turns, or rough roads with a bike loaded on the roof. If you frequently drive at sustained highway speeds, checking the rack's specific speed rating and periodically re-checking suction during stops is recommended for safety.

This roof rack is a genuine, authorised Rockbros product, not an unofficial copy, so you get the described suction-mount hardware and bike capacity.
