Tubeless Rim Tape — 33mm
The foundation layer of any tubeless setup — seals your rim bed airtight so sealant, air pressure, and your tire can all do their job properly.
What Rim Tape Actually Does
Most tubeless-ready rims have spoke holes drilled through the rim bed — necessary for building the wheel, but a direct path for air to escape once you're running tubeless. Rim tape is a strong adhesive strip applied around the inside of the rim to seal over those spoke holes, creating a continuous airtight surface for your tire and sealant to sit against.
Without a properly sealed rim, air simply leaks out through the spoke bed no matter how good your tire or sealant is — so the tape isn't optional trim, it's the layer everything else in a tubeless setup depends on.
Built to Actually Hold a Seal
This tape uses a 75-micron PET film base coated with a silicone adhesive layer. PET is the same tough, thin polymer film used in things like durable packaging and industrial tape — it resists stretching, tearing, and puncturing far better than a basic rubber strip, while staying thin enough not to add unnecessary bulk inside the rim bed.
The silicone adhesive is engineered to grip firmly to the rim bed and hold under high tire pressure and heat, while still peeling off cleanly and residue-free if you ever need to remove and replace it — no scraping off stubborn glue with a rim already committed to one tape width.
Handles Real Riding Conditions
Tubeless setups run at meaningful pressure, and rim braking or hard descents generate real heat at the rim. This tape is built with high tensile strength so it won't tear, stretch, or deform under that combination — and it's rated to withstand the high pressure and heat that come with long road rides, gravel days, and technical mountain trails alike, without the seal degrading over time.
Why 33mm — and How to Check It's Right for Your Rim
Rim tape width should be matched to your rim's internal width, not the tire size or outer rim width. As a general rule, add roughly 3–4mm to your rim's internal width to choose your tape size — too narrow and the tape won't reach the tire bead hooks on either side, leaving gaps that leak air; too wide and it bunches up in the center of the rim bed instead of sitting flat.
You can usually find your rim's internal width printed on the rim itself or in the wheel manufacturer's specs. 33mm suits wider road, gravel, and MTB rims — if you're unsure, measure the internal width with calipers or a ruler before ordering rather than guessing from tire size alone.
How to Apply It
| 1️⃣ Clean the inner rim bed thoroughly — any dust, oil, or old adhesive residue will weaken the seal. |
| 2️⃣ Start winding the tape from about 10cm away from the valve hole, not directly at it. |
| 3️⃣ Pull the tape moderately taut as you go so it sits flat against the rim bed with no air bubbles or wrinkles. |
| 4️⃣ Wrap fully around the rim at least once, overlapping back past your starting point, then cut off the excess. |
| 5️⃣ Locate the valve hole by feel and cut a small "+" or straight slit through the tape there — don't cut a large hole, just enough for the valve to pass through cleanly. |
| 6️⃣ Push the valve through, seat it, and tighten the retaining nut before mounting your tire. |

💡 Pro Tip
If you're converting a wheel that previously ran a different tape or a tube, remove all traces of the old tape and clean the rim bed with isopropyl alcohol before applying new tape — leftover adhesive or grime is one of the most common causes of a tubeless setup that won't hold air from day one.
