Faster Spokes
The aero stainless steel spokes used in ORTH disc are specially processed for very low air resistance, so that the aero blades are maintained until just before meeting the rim. By using hidden nipples, power saving of more than 3 W at 45 km/h (approximately 1W at 30 km/h) is possible only with these spokes, compared to those built with regular nipples and regular CX-ray or Wing20.
Ortah Hubs
ORTAH's hub is dedicated hub 20 front and 24 rear spokes, and is designed to allow easy use of highly aero spokes. It consists of a front hub that can handle the instantaneous braking power of more than 3000 W and a rear hub with wide hub flanges to maximize driving torque transfer and lateral stiffness for strong attacks and sprints. The ratchet is a 3-pawl system having very low resistance and long maintenance intervals. We use steel bearings not ceramic, because we discern hype and real performance.
Optimised Rim Shape
Rim internal width of 21 mm and external width of 28.4 mm (50 mm depth) or 31.2 mm (65 mm depth). The newly released ORTAH disc develped by the opinions of Team Sooty Smith (elite) and Team WHEELLAB.&SMITH (club) racers, features hook rims that allow safe use of all 25c~28c clincher and tubeless race tires. The specially designed rim shapes allow for extremely stable steering even in strong crosswinds.
